What information should be on a business card?
The information that should be included on your business card depends on your industry. However, some of the most common information that people choose to add to their cards includes:
- Name
- Business Name
- Logo
- Position
- Phone Number (office and/or cell)
- Email Address
- Social Media Handles
- Company or Personal Website
- Company Address
You should include any information you think is necessary for people to remember who you are and how to get in touch with you.
What should I put on the back of my business card?
The design of your business card is completely up to you! Typically the back of a business card features a simpler design with less text than the front. It often shows the company logo or branding. Sometimes it is left blank. If you choose to create an embossed business card or debossed business card, we recommend leaving the back blank or being extremely careful with your design to avoid interference from the 3D image. Alternatively, on flat cards, you can use the free space to add a QR code or image that would be too large to add to the front.
What is a contact card?
Contact cards are very similar to business cards, but can contain more personal information. Contact cards typically include the same information as business cards (name, company, job title, office phone number), but they can also include more personal information like social media handles, photos, personal websites, etc. Contact cards allow for more personal marketing and can help make you more memorable after networking events. Contact cards, like our catering cards, are also perfect for small businesses that want to leave a card in public locations to advertise their services.
What is the standard size of a business card?
In the United States and Canada, the standard business card size is 3.5” x 2”. This size is similar to that of a credit card. It is big enough to include the necessary contact information, but still small enough to fit in most wallets, making transportation easy. Our standard business cards are perfect for those looking to create classic 3.5” x 2” business cards, but we also offer more unique sizes and shapes, including hexagon business cards, round business cards, and bi-fold business cards.
Do people still use business cards?
Definitely! Business cards are still a great way to connect with people in person. In a time when so much of our daily communication is done digitally, a physical reminder of a conversation can be very memorable. Business cards are beneficial for people in any industry, but we offer specific options for restaurants, catering businesses, food trucks, schools, and nonprofits.
You can also tie your business cards into the digital age by using interactive elements like QR codes to link to your website.
Are square business cards a good idea?
Square business cards are a unique shape that stands out in the sea of cards people will receive at networking events. Square cards can make your interactions more memorable. If you design square business cards, it is important to consider the size carefully. You want to make sure people can fit your cards into a standard wallet or business card holder, otherwise, your business card might get lost or destroyed before they can contact you. You can order square business cards through Greenerprinter via a custom quote request.
What kind of paper is used for business cards?
Business cards are typically printed on thick paper or cardstock. This sturdy paper allows business cards to hold up to regular transport and transfer between different people. At Greenerprinter, we use recycled paper for all of our business cards. Combine our sustainable paper with our eco-friendly algae inks to create the most sustainable business cards out there!
How thick is a normal business card?
Normal business cards are printed on 14pt or 16pt paper. 14pt paper is 0.014 inches thick and 16pt paper is 0.016 inches thick. These thicknesses are rigid and durable, but still offer slight flexibility in your cards. 16pt paper is available on all of our business cards. Our kraft business cards use a 20pt kraft stock. The thickness of this paper is 0.02 inches, giving your kraft business cards a thick, luxurious feel.
How big does a QR code need to be on a business card?
The smallest recommended size for QR codes is 0.75 x 0.75 inches (2 x 2cm). Your QR code should not be any smaller than this to ensure that smartphone QR code readers can read the code. QR codes can be added to any of our business cards, including die cut business cards, rounded corner business cards, and round business cards.
