Printing on Kraft Paper FAQ

What is the finest detail you recommend using on kraft paper?

Despite a slightly rougher texture, kraft paper can still handle small details extremely well, making it suitable for small products like hang tags and business cards. As with other papers, we recommend sticking to font sizes around 7pt or higher and line weights of at least 0.25pt.

What are the CMYK color values of brown kraft paper?

Our kraft paper is a beautiful light brown color. This color is challenging to match exactly in CMYK. A good approximation of the color is C18, M32, Y49, and K10. The hex code is #B79F7C. This color may not match the kraft paper exactly, but it will give you a good idea of how your next folder or packaging sleeve design might appear on kraft paper. We recommend ordering one of our free sample packs to receive a physical sample of our kraft paper to test colors.

How will color look on brown kraft paper?

Color will appear differently on brown kraft paper than on white paper. When printed directly on kraft paper, colors may appear duller or more muted. Light colors will show the brown of the kraft paper. This creates a natural-looking design with organic colors, perfect for packaging and hang tags for natural products. Consider using a white ink base if you want bright and vibrant colors. White ink creates a white background that colored ink can then be printed over. With this method, colors will appear as they do when printed on white paper. We recommend ordering one of our free sample packs to receive physical samples showing how different colors appear on kraft paper.
