Do I need to set up the trapping in my design file?

What is trapping?

Trapping in print is a small overlap of color added around the edge of different shapes to reduce the effect of registration issues (misaligned colors). Misaligned colors can create unwanted colors or blank spots around printed shapes. Trapping creates a small tolerance that minimizes any misalignment. Typically, the lighter color is trapped into the darker color.

Trapping is common in many different printed products, especially packaging options like our cardstock product boxes, all natural packaging sleeves, and luxury hang tags.

Should I set up trapping in my design?

No! Please DO NOT add any trapping to your design. Our prepress team uses special software to correctly set up any needed trapping in your design. There is no need for you to worry about trapping your design.
