What is the CMYK color mode?
The CMYK color mode is the color mode used for most printed products, including our hang tags, booklets, and stickers. This mode represents what colors can be printed using cyan (C), magenta (M), yellow (Y), and black (K) ink. Combinations of these four colors are layered to create the wide range of vivid colors you see in our printed goods.
Why should I design in CMYK?
Many designers create designs in the RGB color mode and use beautiful, vibrant colors. These bright colors are perfect for digital designs, but they do not translate the same to print, as shown above. Printers simply cannot create the same vibrant colors that light from screens and LCD displays can create. This is why is it beneficial to create your printed designs in the CMYK color mode. Designing in CMYK gives the designer a more accurate representation of how colors will appear when printed. This means you will have better control over how the final product will look.
If you upload files with RGB colors, they will be converted to CMYK before printing. We will convert the colors as accurately as possible, but exact matches will be unlikely. Stick to CMYK colors for vibrant (and expected) colors in your next real estate presentation folder, sell sheet, pamphlet, or other printed product design.
